Arabian Travel Market 2025 set to spotlight innovation in connectivity

Dubai gears up for Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, as global aviation leaders converge to explore sustainable fuels, cutting-edge technology, and the rise of airport indulgence, promising a transformative year for travel.

The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 is set to soar as it welcomes global aviation leaders to the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 28 April to 1 May 2025, under the theme ‘Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity.’

The 32nd edition of ATM promises dynamic discussions on the aviation sector’s pressing topics, including sustainable aviation, new technologies, corporate travel resurgence, and the rise of ‘gate escapes.’ With air travel revenues projected to surpass $1 trillion and passenger numbers hitting a record 5.2 billion in 2025, the event will spotlight the sector’s unprecedented growth.

Key Focus Areas

Industry leaders will delve into the surge in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production, which has doubled in 2024 and is expected to reach 2.1 million tonnes in 2025. Airlines such as Emirates and Etihad are already leveraging SAF on routes including Singapore, Amsterdam, London, and Oslo, cutting CO2 emissions significantly.

The role of artificial intelligence (AI) will also take centre stage, showcasing innovations like London Heathrow’s AI-powered air traffic control system and Japan Airlines’ AI-driven baggage management. These advancements streamline operations, enhance safety, and deliver superior customer experiences.

Corporate Travel Revival: With the launch of IBTM@ATM, business travel is expected to shine as 40% of corporations plan increased travel spending in 2025.

‘Gate Escapes’: Modern airports are becoming entertainment hubs for Gen Z and millennials, with amenities like sleep pods, spas, and Michelin-starred restaurants driving a new wave of airport experiences. According to Booking.com’s annual travel prediction research, 43% of Gen Z and
millennials consider destinations based on their airport, opting for indulgent experiences, including sleep pods (37% Gen Z, 35% Millennials) and spas (31% Gen Z, 29% Millennials) to Michelin star restaurants (22% Gen Z, 24% millennials).

The Global Stage will feature sessions such as ‘Connecting the Future of Travel: Aviation, Cruise & Rail,’ exploring how sustainable practices and transformative technologies are reshaping connectivity.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market, said: “At ATM, we recognise the critical importance of addressing the latest trends and innovations shaping the aviation industry. New technology and the increased use of sustainable fuels will be a game-changer for the sector, with far-reaching benefits for years to come.”

Building on its success in 2024, which saw 47,000 attendees and 2,550 exhibitors, ATM 2025 will expand to 13 halls. Leading exhibitors like Emirates, flydubai, and Air Charter Service are set to return, reflecting the event’s role as a global hub for the travel and tourism sector.

Strategic partners for ATM 2025 include Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, Emirates, and IHG Hotels & Resorts, underscoring the event’s importance in shaping the future of global travel.
