Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts’ Talise Spa: Creating a sense of space and luxury

Check into Talise Spa at Jumeirah Muscat Bay, recover and recharge enjoying wellness treatments and leisure services and relax on a floating lounge in the ocean to leave feeling rejuvenated.

TALISE Spa at Jumeirah Muscat Bay is a haven for relaxation and rejuvenation amid elements of Oman along with a sense of spa. Manager of the spa Gina Da Costa talks about the iconic spa brand’s arrival in Oman and what sets it apart.

Please tell us about Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts’ own spa brand, Talise Spa

Talise Spa is the signature spa brand of Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts. Talise Spa as a brand was started several years ago by Jumeirah Group to deliver luxurious spa experiences. When bringing Talise Spa to the country, we wanted to bring in a touch of Oman. We wanted to introduce elements of Oman in the spa together with delivering a sense of spa. Creating a relaxing environment was essential. We also wanted the spa to create a sense of space and sense of luxury.

How have you brought elements of Oman to the spa?

Partnering with the right spa brands was one of the main aspects of showcasing the local culture. I wanted to bring brands that would have a connection with elements of Oman. I looked for brands that had ingredients like frankincense and rose water. That’s when I came across the Australian brand Sodashi. It is a holistic, vegan, cruelty-free and natural spa brand. I wanted to have a local brand at the spa, and I came across Sacra. We use frankincense oils and camel milk soaps from this clean beauty brand at the spa.

What other brands do you have at Talise Spa in Jumeirah Muscat Bay?

We have got 111Skin from the renowned brand founded by cosmetic surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides. We have MarocMaroc for hammam and massages. Protecting the skin is important, especially when you live in the region. We have introduced Coola skin care, an organic brand that protects skin from UV rays. We have retail products from all the brands we represent so that the guests can treat themselves even at home. We are also proud to be the home of Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio by Bastien Gonzalez.

What is the essence of Talise Spa?

Relax, recover, recharge. We want our guests to come into the spa and feel relaxed. People lead busy lives; we want them to recover at Talise Spa and leave feeling rejuvenated.

What would your recommendation for someone looking to have an ideal day at Talise Spa be?

Together with our wellness treatments, we also have leisure services that can be added along. We have several holistic services like yoga, meditation, Pranic healing, and singing bowl sessions that complement our spa services. You can start your day with a soothing full-body massage and relax with beach yoga accompanied by a singing bowl session. We also have Oman’s first Hamacland, a floating lounge in the ocean where one can relax after the spa service.

What are the facilities at Talise Spa?

We have 10 treatment rooms, of which two are couples’ rooms. All our treatment rooms are ocean-facing. The spa extends over two floors with separate spaces for men and women as well as a couples’ lounge that overlooks the entire bay. We also have steam, sauna, and hammam rooms.

Which is the one ‘must-do’ treatment you would recommend to a guest of Talise Spa?

The Jumeirah Revitalising Massage. This massage includes a combination of ancient therapeutic techniques, deep-flowing movements, acupressure point stimulation, and stretching. There are also a variety of oils to choose from depending on the guest’s requirement.
