SalamAir to discontinue flight operations to India

The low-cost airline has also removed all bookings to Indian sectors from its website, while it also informed travel agents that it will fully refund customers who have made reservations post the suspension period.

MUSCAT: Oman’s budget airline SalamAir will stop its flight operations to India starting from October 1, 2023, according to a report in The Arabian Stories.

The decision to discontinue the service comes due to limitations in providing flight rights allocations to the Indian sectors. Currently, SalamAir flies to Trivandrum, Calicut, Jaipur, and Lucknow.

The low-cost airline has also removed all bookings to Indian sectors from its website, while it also informed travel agents that it will fully refund customers who have made reservations post the suspension period.

Following the suspension of service by another budget airline, GoAir, this year, SalamAir used to be a relief for passengers travelling to India due to its low ticket fares.

Travel industry experts in Oman have also expressed concern over the possible impact on airfare hikes from next month after SalamAir stops operations to the four Indian sectors.
