Dubai unveils Dh150 million fund to boost content creators and influencers

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has unleashed a financial powerhouse of Dh150 million ($40.8 million) dedicated to empowering content creators and influencers.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the visionary leader of the UAE, has unveiled an ambitious initiative to bolster the global creator economy. Allocating a staggering Dh150 million ($40.8 million) fund, the ruler of Dubai is propelling the digital media sector to new heights. The strategic move combines plans for a state-of-the-art permanent headquarters designed exclusively for influencers, offering year-round support.

This bold move aligns seamlessly with Dubai’s commitment to nurturing creative talents and fostering growth in the digital industry, both pivotal in elevating the UAE’s global media footprint.

The announcement was a highlight at the 1 Billion Followers Summit, a two-day extravaganza hosted in Dubai featuring over 3,000 attendees, 100 speakers, and 300 companies from the technology and social media landscape. This summit marked the ideal backdrop for unveiling an initiative poised to redefine the landscape of content creation and influence.
This fund is a financial injection and a comprehensive support system for content creators. It will offer training courses, aiding local and regional talents in honing their skills and making an impact in digital media.

A joint venture between the UAE Government Media Office and the New Media Academy, the influencers’ headquarters aims to become a central hub for top influencers and content creators, solidifying the UAE’s position as a global capital for digital content.

As the creator economy is projected to reach $480 billion in the next four years, Dubai’s strategic investment of $40.8 million reflects a commitment to nurturing the burgeoning content creators and influencers community. The fund will support the development of impactful content and serve as a platform to showcase the UAE’s achievements and cultural contributions on the world stage.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasized this fund’s exceptional opportunities for content creators. He stated that the fund is dedicated to supporting content creators and presents outstanding opportunities to fulfil their potential, grow their business and showcase the accomplishments and ambitions of the Emirati people to the world. With these investments, Dubai is set to shape the future of digital content creation, propelling the UAE into a global leadership role in the digital landscape.
