Abu Dhabi’s new traffic patrol takes safety to the digital fast lane

Abu Dhabi Police is steering traffic safety into the future with the launch of its smart mobile digital traffic education patrol.

Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, emphasized that this digital patrol will significantly enhance traffic safety culture. The initiative targets everyone from parents and children to private drivers and domestic workers, providing crucial guidance on vehicle and road safety to help prevent accidents.

The patrol’s unique approach includes interactive lectures introducing its services, gifts, and digital awareness brochures. At the heart of the initiative is a driving simulator using virtual reality (VR), which offers a hands-on learning experience, complemented by digital awareness videos showcased through state-of-the-art technology.

Major Ahmed Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director of the Digital Traffic Awareness Projects, highlighted that this proactive service aligns with Abu Dhabi’s future-focused trends.

Equipped with smart screens and advanced educational tools, the patrol delivers awareness films via a rear display screen and engages the public with informative content on topics like child safety seats and participates in a traffic awareness competition.
