Saudi Arabia is expected to place an order for nearly 80 Boeing planes, Reuters reported on Monday.
According to the report, Boeing is likely to sell 787 Dreamliner airplanes to two Saudi Airlines and the list prices would total nearly $37 billion. State-owned airline Saudia and new national airliner Riyadh Air will both be acquiring Boeing 78 787s split between the two buyers and have options to buy another 43.
Early this week, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the launch of Riyadh Air, with industry veteran Tony Douglas as chief executive. According to a statement issued by the Saudi Press Agency, Riyadh Air will serve more than 100 destinations around the world by 2030.
